Reeva Prepares For War In A Preview Of The Gifted’s Second Season

by Erik Amaya

The Gifted is back, and like Gotham‘s season titles, it seems the show also received a subtitle of its own: “Dawn of the Mutant Age.”

But that dawn may not be so grand for everyone involved. As seen in this preview of upcoming episodes, Reeva (Grace Byers) is planning for an all-out war between Mutants and conventional humans. One imagines people like John (Blair Redford) and the Struckers will stand in her way. And based on some of the scenes in the preview, it seems Blink (Jamie Chung) may eventually sway the Morlocks to Mutant Underground’s side. Or, perhaps, she’ll just join them and leave John’s crusade entirely.

If last night’s episode is anything to go by, the Mutant Underground is pretty frayed following the dramatic split in leadership last season. Six months of searching for Andy (Percy Hynes White) and Lorna (Emma Dumont) have left Marcos (Sean Teale) and the others at their wits end. Compounded with increased raids on Mutant safe spaces by Sentinel Services, it seems the mission they set for themselves may be failing.

And with the way things are right now, Reeva’s ideas are very seductive.

The Gifted airs Tuesdays on Fox.
