NYCC 2018: ComiXology Originals & Comix AF Launches Fair Trade In 2019

by James Ferguson

ComiXology has revealed the newest edition to its Originals line. The digital comics service is again partnering with Comix AF for Fair Trade, debuting in the Spring of 2019 from writer Tini Howard and artist Eryk Donovan. Fans attending New York Comic Con will get a chance to pick up an exclusive Fair Trade poster from Donovan at his table in Artist Alley #1B5. Donovan will also be appearing at two ComiXology panels, The New Comics Publishing Frontier and The Voices of ComiXology Originals.

Writer Tini Howard says:

Set in a city where inspiration is the black market du jour, muses who call themselves the Moonfly Mafia have the power to inspire humans…and the wisdom to never give a good thing away for free. And when our hero Margot steps on their turf, she starts learning a few things, too. This is a book for magical girls-gone-bad.

Fair Trade is described as “a series for magical girls-gone-bad.” It’s a mafia-style story of a blooming prodigy with more skill than sense. The comic takes place in a city where inspiration is the trade and magic colors outside the lines.

Comix AF co-founder Daniel Alter added:

Fair Trade is a fresh concept from one of the most exciting new voices working in the comic book industry today. Working with Tini Howard and Eryk Donovan, whose beautiful illustrations are bringing this to life, has been an absolute pleasure for us.

Fair Trade is a five-issue mini-series. It will be available on Kindle and ComiXology for purchase or free to read for members of Amazon Prime, Kindle Unlimited, and ComiXology Unlimited. Print collected editions will be available through Print-On-Demand exclusively on Amazon.com.

Chip Mosher, comiXology’s Head of Content says:

We’re excited to be teaming up with Comix AF, Tini, and Eryk to bring the all-new genre bending Fair Trade to a huge audience! ComiXology Originals expands the reach of exciting new stories like Fair Trade by making it free to read on the day of release for Amazon Prime, comiXology Unlimited, or Kindle Unlimited members.
