Planet of the Apes is alive and well at Boom! Studios as the franchise celebrates its 50th anniversary. The publisher, partnered with 20th Century Fox Consumer Products, is releasing a one-shot next month called Planet of the Apes: The Time of Man #1 and has shared an early preview of the book that explores the most dangerous enemy of the apes: the beast called man.
This one-shot features stories from both the original series canon as well as that of the new film series. We’ll see the early years of Armando and Caesar before Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and, for the first time ever, the harrowing events after War for the Planet of the Apes, following a few of the remaining human survivors.
Cameron Chittock, editor, Boom! Studios says:
Planet of the Apes: The Time of Man #1 kicks off our 50th anniversary celebration with an incredible batch of writers and artists with a passion for the series. Featuring familiar faces and all new characters, this collection of stories from the human perspective is one fans will not want to miss.
Planet of the Apes: The Time of Man #1 includes work from writers Dan Abnett, David F. Walker, and Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artists Carlos Magno, George Schall, and Morgan Beem. It will feature covers by Fay Dalton and John Keaveney, and Michael Allred. Look for it in comic shops on October 31st, 2018. The final order cutoff date for comic shops is October 8th, 2018.
