It seems the NYCC news is coming quick, fast, and well before the convention even begins.

Jon Favreau released the first details of his upcoming Star Wars television series via his Instagram account a short time ago.

Entitled The Mandalorian, the series will concern another member of that warrior race who emerges as a gunfighter during the days of the New Republic. Which pretty much confirms recent rumors about the show — namely, the timeframe and focus. Of course, much is still unclear, including casting and just how wide a range of characters one will see in the program. Favreau previously said the characters will be all brand new with established characters taking the bench for now.

The Mandalorian will debut on Disney’s streaming service sometime in 2019.
