The Flash hits the 100 episode milestone next week. But as seen in this preview of the episode, the race to stop Cicada (Chris Klein) will not pause for the occasion. Instead, Barry (Grant Gustin) must run into his own past to aid the effort against the metahuman serial killer in the present. The journey will take him back to his battles with Zoom (Teddy Sears) and Savitar (also Gustin). But what will a chance encounter with Thawne as Wells (Tom Cavanagh) mean for Nora (Jessica Kennedy Parker), who is clearly in the Time Vault at the end of the teaser?
As for this week’s episode, I can’t get over the seemingly kind Central City Hospital doctor, Dr. Ambres (Lossen Chambers), as the source of Cicada’s rage against metas. Without her prompting, he still may have become mad at the Flash, but she definitely set him on the path to casting a wider net. Also, she protected him when Barry was within inches of discovering the truth; which suggests she is complicit in Orlin’s kill spree. Maybe she’s the real big bad. Then again, her Children of Liberty style thoughts may run too close to Supergirl‘s story for The Flash to head in this direction.
Meanwhile, it’s nice to see Nora’s hero worship erode a little more. Hopefully, she’ll see Barry as a person before too long. Although, I’m starting to doubt her stated reasons for coming to the present.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
