Upstart comics publisher TKO Studios announced their new and innovative business model Monday via Twitter. The concept is pretty simple, and caters to modern entertainment trends. In what they’re calling “Binge-release,” TKO will be releasing all issues of each of their miniseries at once.
They’ll also make their books available in three different formats, which should play right into readers’ individual preferences. Enjoy holding individual floppies of each chapter? You can purchase a six-issue set, complete with collector’s box. Prefer trade paperback format? TKO Studios has you covered. The same content is available collected in a single book. Indulge in your comics via smart phone, tablet, or desktop? Digital copies are available.
Want to check it out? To get an early sneak peek at the goods, head over to the TKO Studios website here, and enter this friends and family password: vipaccess. The first issue of each of the four currently available miniseries is available for free viewing.
You should also probably glance at a few of those creator names while you’re there. Announced so far are Roxane Gay, Jeff Lemire, Garth Ennis, Natalie Chaidez, Gabriel Walta, Steve Epting, Josh Dysart, Elizabeth Breitweiser, Giulia Brusco, Jordie Bellaire, Andy Belanger, Alberto Ponticelli, Mig Doyle, Dan McDaid, Nik Virella, Artyom Trakhanov, Daniela Miwa, Ruth Redmond, Mike Weiss, Sal & Steven Simeone, Jordan Boyd, Ariana Maher, Rob Steen, Dave McCaig, Steve Wands, Jared Fletcher, EIC Sebastian Girner, and co-founder/publisher Tze Chun.
