The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan Returns To Supernatural For Its 300th Episode

The 300th episode of Supernatural will be a landmark in many ways. For one, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is returning to the show to honor the historic occasion.

In a statement, executive producer Andrew Dabb said, “We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars.”

Morgan appeared in the first two seasons as John Winchester, the father of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). But as his commitments to other television shows like Grey’s Anatomy made it difficult for him to appear on the series. The character was presumably accepted into Heaven at the end of the second season and Morgan vanished from the show after recording a single line of dialogue in Season 3. John’s sons went on saving the world and each other. In subsequent years, Morgan’s key role on The Walking Dead definitely made things tougher, though the actor was always hopeful about returning some day. And now, that time has come at last.

Supernatural‘s 300th episode, “Lebanon” and will air Thursday, February 7 on The CW.
