One Part Pulp Fiction, One Part Globe-Trotting Adventure: The Fearsome Doctor Fang #1 From TKO Studios

by Oliver MacNamee

Like other new publishers such as Vault Comics and Ahoy Comics, TKO Studios are widely spreading their wings and producing some eclectic titles, rather than suffocate the market with more spandex wearing super folk. Up next is a pulp fiction inspired book The Fearsome Doctor Fang by writers Tze Chun and Mike Weiss (The Mentalist), artist Dan McDaid (Judge Dredd, Firefly) colourist Daniela Miwa (Shaft) and letterer Steve Wands (Batman, Descender). Here’s the preview of this comic you can download for free right now on their website.

San Francisco/Shanghai. 1906. When an occult artifact is stolen by dashing Chinese criminal mastermind Dr Fang, San Francisco cop Nayland Kelly teams up with fast-talking con woman Alice LeCroix  to recover the item and bring Fang to justice.

But when our heroes discover Fang is not a criminal at all, but a member of a secret society dedicated to keeping the artefact safe, they must join forces to thwart a true evil which threatens to unleash an ancient power on the world.
