Gotham Final Season Trailer Brings Shock And Awe

There has never been a Gotham season trailer more Gotham than the one Fox released this morning for the fifth and final season of the series.

As recapped in the video, Gotham is cut off from the rest of the world thanks to Jeremiah (Cameron Monaghan) bombing the bridges at the end of last season. Now, Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) must take the city back from various factions who have carved it up block by block. Meanwhile, all of the city’s well known oddities have lost their minds by a hair or two if Barbara (Erin Richards) is anything to go by. And it seems Jeremiah has a pathological need to set up the greatest rivalry in all of comics; suggesting he’s read ahead in the script. But the dry text fails to convey just how much Gotham is embracing its bizarre mix of tones for its final act. One must see the giddiness for themselves.

Gotham returns January 3rd on Fox.
