We hear of first issues being rushed back for second prints all the time, but not necessarily when a whole series is collected as a trade paperback. By the very nature of book publishing such collected graphic novels tend to be reprinted and reprinted all the while. But, a second print is not always this quickly demanded because of the fans. Well, congratulations to Sloane Leong, creator and producer of Prism Stalker, published by Image Comics on having her first volume being rushed back in order to be on the shelves again by Wednesday, February 27th and in the hands of the demanding fans. Good news and a strong suggestion that this book is finding a new audience through bookstores and, I imagine, word-of-mouth.
Here’s a recap of what you’ve missed so far:
In Prism Stalker, a newly discovered planet teems with strange psychic life and puzzling telekinetic ecology. Vep, a refugee raised as an indentured citizen in a foreign colony far away from her devastated home planet, is selected by a private military firm to assist in settling the new planet. What awaits her there will test the limits of her will as she grapples with the strange power the planet exerts over her…
Oh, and the second print also comes with a new cover by Leong as well as a brand-new logo designed by Darius Ou, and an all-new afterword by Mandy co-screenwriter Aaron Stewart-Ahn. Nice.
