by Gary Catig

Only a few months back, the world lost one of its best storytellers when comic legend, Stan Lee, passed away. The creator will be receiving a tribute of superheroic proportions that is fitting for the larger than life personality. Kevin Smith, Legion M and Agents of Mayhem along with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment will hold a public appreciation of Lee’s life and work entitled, Excelsior! A Celebration of the Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible & Uncanny Life of Stan Lee.

The event will take place on January 30, 2019 at the famed TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood. There will be a public portion with fan favorite speakers, an art exhibit celebrating Lee’s legacy by pop culture artist, Rob Prior, and other surprises. Later in the evening, a private tribute will be held in the IMAX theater where Smith will moderate conversations with celebrity speakers about their stories and memories of Lee. Expected to appear are Mark Hamill, Rob Liefeld, Michael Uslan, Vincent D’Onofrio, RZA, Tom DeSanto and others.

CEO of Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment, Scott D. Williams, says:

We are honored for this chance for Stan’s fans and friends to come together in a celebration of his remarkable life. Despite his passing, Stan’s name, work and legacy will continue to flourish and be revealed to the world. We are committed to honor Stan’s extraordinary life and work.

Stan Lee has impacted many people’s lives through his stories and this event is a great way to pay respect to an icon. Fans wishing to attend “Excelsior! A Stan Lee Celebration” can obtain tickets here. Note, there are only a limited number available. In addition, all net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Hero Initiative.
