Over The Garden Wall Joins The Circus In New OGN This October

by James Ferguson

Boom! Studios has announced a new Over the Garden Wall original graphic novel inspired by the Cartoon Network animated series. Debuting in October, Over the Garden Wall: Circus Friends is written by Jonathan Case and illustrated by John Golden.

Writer Jonathan Case says:

I’m so pleased to be dabbling in the Over the Garden Wall universe again. John’s doing a great job bringing our new characters to life and filling every inch of the circus with funny and creepy details.

The OGN follows Greg, Wirt, and Beatrice deeper into The Unknown as they search for a path home. Instead, they stumble upon a distraught Strongman and Clown who have run away from their circus. When they follow these two disgraced performers back, Beatrice is lost to the greedy Ringmaster who has found his newest act: a talking bird. The boys have to team up with the reluctant circus acts to save their friend and escape the clutches of the biggest show in the Unknown.

Artist John Golden adds:

I look forward to introducing readers to a colorful new cast of characters on Wirt and Greg’s latest adventure!

Over the Garden Wall: Circus Friends will be published under Boom! Studios’ KaBoom! imprint, focused on comics for middle grade and younger readers.

Matthew Levine, Editor at Boom! Studios says:

You never know who you’ll run into in The Unknown, but each new encounter has shaped Greg, Wirt, and Beatrice in unexpected ways as they wander ever deeper into the surreal and bewildering forest around them. Jonathan and John throw our brave young heroes into the thick of it as they overcome their fears and step up to fight to save their friend from a lifetime of misery and servitude.

Look for Over the Garden Wall: Circus Friends at your local comic shop or bookstore in October 2019.
