Last week, Bandai got another opportunity to show off their new 3v3 fighting game Jump Force, and along with showing off new characters Boruto and Kaguya, they also came with a new story focused trailer. The trailer sees our world fused with that of the Shonen Jump universe, with the villains of the individual anime invading alongside new enemies, known as “Venoms”.
In the story, players will play as someone revived by the heroes with something called an umbras cube, before seeing you recruited into the “Jump Force”. The umbras cubes are able to take over people’s minds, meaning players will have to face off against both heroes and villains alike during the game’s story, defeating heroes to bring them over to the side of the Jump Force. The goal of Jump Force will be to stop the villains’ attempt to merge both the real world and the Jump dimension, and their leader’s desire to create a world where justice is non-existent, and strength rules over all.
It certainly seems like Bandai-Namco is aiming to give players a meaty single player campaign, which is generally the key for arena fighters attracting a more casual audience.
Jump Force launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC February 15th.
