Barry (Grant Gustin) is still trying to take the fight to Cicada (Chris Klein). He has the potential meta-cure, but its clear he might need some more meta tech to develop a delivery system. And as seen in this preview of next week’s episode of The Flash, he and Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) go undercover in the high-stakes world of black market weapons to retrieve the necessary items. But will it be the deal with the devil Barry expects it to be?
Meanwhile, last night’s episode proved once again how The Flash can use the cliche of walking in peoples’ minds to maximum effect. Nora’s (Jessica Parker Kennedy) perception of Iris (Candice Patton) and the revelation of their true relationship was surprisingly touching — even if I wanted Iris’s parenting choices to come from a less noble place. Similarly, the seeds of second Cicada in the future were sown in a very organic manner. Additionally, there was something very chilling about seeing a child espouse hatred that way.
But the biggest of deals for me is the potential for Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to find a more stable relationship. I recently asked Valdes about the show’s lack of commitment to Cisco’s love-life. He evaded the question, and now we know why. Hopefully, this new character (who will most certainly get a job at Iris’s newspaper) will be more of a presence than Gypsy.
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
