It’s not a FCBD release, but DC Comics new one-shot, The Year of the Villain is only 25 cents and out May 1st, just a few days earlier. And with Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV and Brian Michael Bendis onboard as writers, I just hope comic boom stores will order enough.
It will also feature the artwork of Eisner Award-winning illustrator Alex Maleev , Jim Cheun and Francis Manapul, with an original cover by Greg Capullo. That’s a pretty amazing line-up of some of DC’s biggest writers and artists. Can you afford to miss out? Especially as it ties in with the shenanigans happening in Justice League.
Following the events of Snyder and Tynion’s Justice League, Lex Luthor takes a major step forward, assembling his Legion of Doom for the final push to replace Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the League as the rightful leaders of not only mankind, but the universe itself, hoping to harness the power of Perpetua, the first being to be imprisoned within the Source Wall, now newly freed in the events of Justice League Annual #1. Perpetua’s storyline and Luthor’s plans to rid the universe of heroes will continue to escalate throughout the rest of 2019.
We are also warned to pay attention to The Batman Who Laughs mini-series too. Luckily, I’m buying both books, so I’m sitting pretty. And, with Bendis involved, I don’t think it hurts to be up on Action Comics and Superman either.
Maybe ask your LCBS about this guaranteed sell out one shot soon?
