Vault Comics Announces Initiative Supporting LCBS And The Community

by Oliver MacNamee

Vault Comics have announced it’s newest initiative designed to support local comic book stores and promote comics, literacy and growing the comic book fan community, offering up to $25,000.00 (retail value) worth of product to support a variety of community engagement events throughout 2019.

Called Bound: Comics and Community Initiative, here’s their vision and basic requirements for any LCBS who are thinking of applying:

Vault is especially interested in supporting events that promote literacy, create safe spaces for community interaction, engage younger readers, or help local business communities thrive. Any comic shop with a Diamond account is eligible to apply.

Damian Wassel, Vault Publisher & CEO expands on the philosophy behind this bold new program:

Perhaps the most important step we can take to ensure the ongoing success of comics is to create and support a healthy, diverse community of fans. Vault celebrates and applauds comic shops who work to foster deep ties with their community, through events that engage fans, promote literacy and inclusion, and support local businesses. So we’re launching our Bound: Comics & Community initiative, because we want to put our money where our heart is: With the fans, comic shops, and retailers who make comics what they are.

If you’re a comic book store owner, or know someone who is, then register by filling in the form you’ll find here. But, do remember that applying does not guarantee selection.
