Shinichiro Watanabe’s ‘Carole And Tuesday’ Gets First Promo Video

by Sage Ashford

Announced in March of last year, studio BONES and Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe are finally ready to premiere the first full-length trailer for their upcoming series, “Carole and Tuesday”.  Set fifty years in the future after humans have managed to colonize Mars, the series follows two young women from different worlds, united by a shared passion to create music.

With character designs from Eisaku Kubonouchi (At That Time, She.) and a script by Aya Watanabe, a writer best known for working on Japanese drama series (most recently 2015’s The Long Goodbye mini-series), it’s clear both BONES and Watanabe are aiming for something outside of the norm for most anime these days. Watanabe is known for bringing his own unique twist to the anime world, often effortlessly using different genres of music to help flesh out the world he’s telling stories in, which will definitely help in a series like this, meant to focus on two young individuals’ strive towards breaking into the music world.

Carole and Tuesday begins airing April 10th.
