Dark Horse Comics’ Resident Alien Heads To Series On SYFY

by James Ferguson

The comedy / drama / sci-fi / noir series, Resident Alien from Dark Horse Comics is making the jump to TV as SYFY has announced it’s picking it up. From Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien follows a crash-landed alien named Harry who takes up the identity of a small-town Colorado doctor and wonders if humans are worth saving. This has been a pretty solid comic so I’m glad to see it getting the added attention.

Universal Content Productions, in association with Amblin TV and Dark Horse Entertainment are bringing the series to the small screen. It was adapted to television by executive producer Chris Sheridan. Mike Richardson, and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment and Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV will also executive produce. David Dobkin executive produced and directed the pilot.

Resident Alien will star Alan Tudyk in the lead role as Harry, joined by series regulars Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, and Levi Fiehler. It begins producing in Vancouver this summer.
