2K And Gearbox Announce Borderlands 3 And Borderlands: Game Of The Year

by Sage Ashford

After seven years, 2K and Gearbox have finally revealed the first trailer of the long-awaited Borderlands 3. Shown off during PAX East, Gearbox is still rather quiet on the title aside from this surprisingly lengthy world-building trailer.  There’s no gameplay, no proper date or even platforms announced yet, however they have mentioned they plan to show more on April 3rd.

But while information on Borderlands 3 wasn’t quite forthcoming, that wasn’t all Gearbox wanted to show. They also confirmed that Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, complete with a bunch of new upgrades to the game–from simple quality of life improvements like a mini-map to a half dozen new legendary weapons and some additional customization options for your Vault Hunter. Borderlands: Game of the Year will launch April 3rd.

Also, a free update is coming to owners of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection (featuring Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel), which will be an Ultra HD pack to raise the resolution of the textures on characters and environment to 4K, which will also be available on April 3rd.

And lastly, Gearbox plans to add Borderlands 2’s DLC to Borderlands 2 VR during the summer, free to all owners of the game.
