Marvel’s Major X #1 Sells Out Ahead Of Release And Sent Back To Print

by James Ferguson

Rob Liefeld’s return to the X-Men has been met with a rush of interest and support. Marvel Comics has announced the upcoming Major X #1, the new series written and illustrated by Liefeld introducing his first new Marvel character in three decades, has sold out ahead of release. That doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find a copy at your local comic shop, especially if you pre-ordered it. It’s just that if your shop runs out, they can’t order any more of the first printing. Marvel has rushed the book back to print with a new cover.

Liefeld teased the new character introduced in Major X #1 in an interview with EW:

He hails from another existence, which is called the ‘X-istence’ — a mutant Shangri-La, a safe haven that has been a realm where mutantkind has lived in peace and harmony. There are some familiar faces that he has forged this other society with. But then a terrible event happens within the X-istence that causes Major X to cross over and land in the Marvel Universe that we know.

Major X #1 is due out on April 3rd, 2019. No date has been set for the release of the second printing.
