The timeline can be changed. Because of this, Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) has planned from the beginning to use Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) to alter time in such a way that the Cicada dagger would fall into his hands in 2049. But what is his endgame? Meanwhile, back in 2019, Team Flash regroups for another fight against Cicada II (Sarah Carter). Will the be able to defeat her or will a member of the team die?
Meanwhile, this week was a nice return to form for the show. Tense and resonant, the program even questioned Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris’s (Candice Patton) tendency to infantilize Nora. That was a remarkable turn as the show rarely ever questions their combined decision making. Nonetheless, it was clear Nora was right and utilizing her bond with Cicada no doubt saved lives. But as the preview for next week shows, Nora still has one more mistake to correct before the end. Will she undo the whole year to stop Thawne’s escape plan?
The Flash airs Tuesdays on The CW.
