Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the latest game from Koji Igarashi and the spiritual successor to Igarashi’s Castlevania titles, just announced the second playable character for the game. Immediately after launch, Zangetsu, a samurai demon hunter and the main character of the Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon game from 2018, will be made available to play in the game. Zangetsu wields his katana “Zangetsuto” along with talismans that contain elemental abilities. The character will traverse the castle through the use of his hook chain, opening up new ways to explore the game.
Also, 505 Games confirmed a few stretch goals will be available when the game launches, including Nightmare difficulty, a New Game Plus mode, an 8-bit retro level, and cheat codes.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night releases on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 18th, and will release a week later for the Nintendo Switch on June 25th in the West. However, in Japan 505 Games is citing logistical difficulties for the game being delayed to a currently unspecified date. However, to make up for this they have promised free Steam codes that will work for backers of the game’s Kickstarter until players can receive their copy of the game on their chosen system.
