Mortal Kombat XI Adds Its First DLC In Shang Tsung

by Sage Ashford

NetherRealm Studios has revealed the trailer for the first character in their DLC “Kombat Pack”, the soul-stealing lieutenant of Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung. Featuring both the voice and look of Shang Tsung’s actor from the original 1995 Mortal Kombat film, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Shang Tsung shows off a number of techniques from characters both in and missing from the game–including Reptile, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Rain, Smoke, and Ermac.   Lastly, we get a vicious brutality starring an old, missing character from the game’s universe.

The trailer also confirms that Kombat Pack 1 will feature six characters in all, including Nightwolf and Sindel coming back to the roster, as well as Spawn from Image Comics and two other guest characters to be announced.  Currently, the guesses for those two characters are Joker and Ash from Evil Dead, as both of them were mentioned in the list of leaked DLC characters. The Kombat Pack also contains alternate outfits for every character, 18 bonus skins for MK 11 characters already in the game, and a Johnny Cage “Ninja Mime” skin and gear set.

Shang Tsung will be available for Kombat Pack owners on June 18th, with other players being able to buy him the following week on June 25th.
