Dark Horse Comics has announced Triage, a new five-issue mini-series from creator Phillip Sevy, debuting in September 2019. The series follows Evie Pierce, a dedicated nurse who wakes up on an unfamiliar, post-apocalyptic world alongside a young snarky superhero and a hardened rebel military commander. No, that’s not the start of a joke. A mysterious figure begins hunting them down so the three women must work together to survive, discover why they were assembled, and how their survival is key to saving all existence.
For my first creator-owned book, I wanted to try and the deliver the biggest, boldest, and craziest story I could through the lens of one singular vision. In Triage, I wanted to go as big and as personal as possible. From writing to penciling to inking to coloring (with amazing letters by Frank Cvetkovic), I’ve been killing myself to deliver a story that is exciting, fun, audacious, and human. Evie has become one of my favorite characters I’ve got to work with. At its core, Triage is about discovering your identity amidst the chaos and enormities of the world around you.
I’ve been a fan of Phillip Sevy’s work for awhile and he’s one of the nicest guys in comics so I’m all in for Triage. This is a crazy-sounding sci-fi concept so I’m very curious as to what it has in store for us. Triage #1 is set to debut on September 4th, 2019.
