EA And Respawn Bring Us Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order

by Sage Ashford

At EA Play, publisher Electronic Arts and developer Respawn brought fans the long-awaited gameplay of their upcoming Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order.  The game play follows protagonist Cal Kestis on the planet Kashyyk, as he helps rebel forces to free the Wookies to aid them against the Empire.

In addition to this gameplay, Jedi: Fallen Order is also the cover story for this month’s Game Informer, and a ton of new information has come flooding out about it.  It appears the game has strong Metroidvania elements, as Cal will be able to use a space ship to transport himself between a number of planets at any time, and revisit them with new abilities to find new paths and surprises.

The game will also have light RPG elements, as defeating enemies and finishing objectives will grant Cal skill points that he can use on board his ship to increase existing abilities or grant him new ones.  Despite these powers however, Cal will run across a wide variety of enemies to give him a challenge–the Empire has forces with energy shields, rocket launches, flame throwers and more, all meant to keep the lead character on his guard.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will release November 15th for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
