505 Games and ArtPlay have released a launch trailer for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to the classic “Igavania” Castlevania titles from Koji Igarashi, best known for his work on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and the GBA/DS Castlevania titles.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night takes place in 18th century England, with players playing as Miriam, a young woman who’s had her body partially crystallized because of alchemy, allowing her to use a variety of spells and weapons. Miriam battles her way through a dangerous castle to battle against Gebel, summoner of the castle and another human experimented on by alchemy who’s lost control of his humanity.
The launch trailer talks about the game, but also goes into detail on the thirteen DLCs awarded to people buying the game for free. This includes a Classic Mode (which makes the game look like an 8-bit title), New Game+, Boss Rush Mode, a Rogue-like Dungeon, a Speed Run Mode, Online co-op and competitive multi-player, local co-op, a nightmare difficulty, and additional side characters.
In addition to those side characters, they’ve added Shovel Knight, from the popular Yacht Club Games title.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launches June 18th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and June 25th for Nintendo Switch.
