Catch Up With July Anime & Manga Releases From Viz Media

This July, Viz Media revealed a pair of new anime series and manga books that will be available.

Last May, the company brought the manga, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 4 – Diamond is Unbreakable stateside. Two months later, they will release the anime series in a special limited-edition Blu-ray ($69.99) and DVD ($39.99) sets. The story continues the multigenerational tale of the Joestar family. Jotaro Kujo visits the Japanese town of Morioh to meet his long-lost uncle, Josuke Higashikata. Together, they must confront an invisible evil in order to save the tranquil town. The series will be out on July 2.

Coming later in the month on July 30, is Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl Complete Season on DVD ($52.99). The 51-episode series follows Ash’s adventures in the Sinnoh region with his friend Brock and a novice Pokémon coordinator named Dawn. Experience a new journey, with new friends, collecting new Pokémon.

A new Shojo Beat series is coming July 2 entitled Daytime Shooting Star ($9.99) by Mika Yamamori. The book centers around a young high school girl named Suzume and the love triangle that develops involving one of her classmates and her homeroom teacher.

Available on July 16 is the indie darling manga, Beastars ($12.99). From Paru Itagaki, the title is a high school drama with animal students that are separated by predator and prey. An uneasy peace is kept throughout as everyone waits for the Beastar; a hero destined to lead both conflicting groups.
