Marvel are once again trying to make sense of their convoluted universe – well, after 80 years of stories, it’s going to be messy – with the publication of History of the Marvel Universe #1 out this week from walking comic-book encyclopaedia, Mark Waid, artists Javier Rodriguez and Alvaro Lopez, and letterer Joe Caramagna. Part of a six-issue series, it hopes to inform, educate and entertain us all on the ins and outs of the 616, and beyond. And, if anyone can do it, Waid’s your man. Check out the preview of the debut issue, which I’m sure many, many fans of Marvel will be picking up this week. Me included.
