Paru Itagaki’s BEASTARS series has released a full promotional video. BEASTARS is set around the world of Cherryton Academy, where anthropomorphic versions of carnivores and herbivores have gradually taught themselves to co-exist, even though there’s a natural divide between the groups. The series follows Legoshi, a wolf who works as a stagehand and lives in a dorm with other carnivores. But things become a bit shaky on campus when one of the students is found killed and partially devoured.
BEASTARS’ director is Shinichi Matsumi (Rurouni Kenshin), with Nanami Higuchi handling the screenplay (Little Witch Academia). Character designs are being done by Nao Ootsu (Banana Fish). Studio Orange (Active Raid, Majestic Prince) is in charge of production. The series premieres in October for the Fall, but has already been licensed by Netflix for worldwide audiences, meaning it will likely have to run its course (or at least the first thirteen episodes) before it will air domestically.
