NYCC 2019: A Look Inside Alex Garland’s Devs

Alex Garland, the man behind Ex Machina, is making his television debut with the series, Devs. At this year’s New York Comic Con, a panel was held to provide more information on this exciting new show. In attendance were Garland, executive producer, Allon Reich, and cast members Sonoya Mizuno, Jin Ha, Zach Grenier, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny and Karl Gusman.

Devs is a limited series that focuses on a young software engineer (Mizuno) who is employed by Amaya, a cutting-edge tech company in Silicon Valley. After her boyfriend dies of apparent suicide, she believes foul play was involved and investigates. She soon finds out that the enigmatic CEO of Amaya, Forest (Nick Offerman), and Devs, the secret development division are all involved. While trying to find the truth, she uncovers a world changing technology-based conspiracy.

The audience was treated to a sneak peak of the extended trailer and two pivotal scenes featuring a first look at the mysteries within the Devs building. You can catch the first teaser below along with photos of Offerman’s Forest and lead Mizuno.

Devs is set to debut in spring 2020 on FX.
