Now here’s something a bit different from Titan Comics. We’re all used to comic book adaptions of popular movies, but it’s not often a hit musical gets this treatment. But, things are changing as Titan team up with Really Useful Group to produce a graphic novel adaption of Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Charles Hart’s The Phantom of the Opera.
Here’s some interesting facts about this long-running show, courtesy of Titan:
Widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, The Phantom of The Opera has played to over 14 million people in 41 countries, 183 cities and translated into 17 languages. It is the longest running show in Broadway history and the only show to have celebrated 30 years on both sides of the Atlantic. Next year will see the 34th Anniversary of its West End debut which opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 9th October 1986, starring Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford.
Written by Cavan Scott and illustrated by José Mariá Beroy, it won’t be out until June 2020, but we have a first look at some of the stunning interior pages. I’ve never been a fan of musicals, but I’m a fan of great comics and this one looks like I might be tempted when it does come out next year. Widescreen and wonderful.
