New Giant Size X-Men Coming In February With Unlikely Team-Up

by James Ferguson

Just when you thought the X-Men couldn’t get any bigger, Marvel Comics has announced they’re going giant size. Giant Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost #1 is coming in February, written by Jonathan Hickman, illustrated by Russell Dauterman, and colored by Matt Wilson. It’s the first in a new series written by Hickman and featuring a different artist each issue. Giant Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost #1 has these two rivals joining forces to rescue Storm from danger.

Artist Russell Dauterman says:

I’ve wanted to draw X-Men comics since I was a kid, so drawing this issue of X-MEN is a dream come true. I’m so thrilled to be working on this with Jonathan and Matt, and it’s co-starring my favorite character, Jean Grey!

The original Giant Size X-Men was published back in 1975 from Len Wein and David Cockrum. It was a new genesis for the mutants and introduced now iconic characters like Storm and Nightcrawler. Hickman plans to honor this legacy each month. Marvel promises more announcements are on the way for future issues so we’re keeping our eyes peeled.
