The first trailer for the adaptation of Ranjo Miyake‘s seinen manga Pet has released. The manga follows a group of people known as “Pets” who are capable of infiltrating people’s minds and even controlling their memories. With these powers, certain crimes are wiped from people’s recollections, making the Pets able assassins. Some can use the ability to utterly destroy minds, but it’s also capable of backfiring and destroying the person using it.
Their power is both feared and hated. Two such Pets, Hiroyuki and Tsukasa, even share a connection with one another, but they find themselves used by a group known as “The Company”.
Takahiro Omori (Baccano) is responsible for directing, while Sadayuki Murai (Zodiac War) is handling series composition. Character design is being done by Junichi Hayama (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure ’94) and the studio in charge of animation is Geno Studio, best known for their work on Golden Kamuy.
It looks promising and it’s something to stave off all the constant alternate world exploration.
Pet is an Amazon Prime Video exclusive premiering January 2020.
