Mobile gaming has the potential to experience significant growth in the future. They are a good means to attract casual gamers a la Candy Crush, so it should be no surprise that popular franchises like Marvel and Star Wars have released multiple titles in the field.
Magic: The Gathering is set to release its first ever game based on the franchise entitled Magic: ManaStrike. It is a mobile synchronous combat game developed by the Netmarble Monster studio.
Fan favorite spells and characters will be brought to life in an all new genre. Magic: ManaStrike provides easy, tactical, strategic gameplay through a user-friendly interface. There is a variety of different strategies to choose from to use in intense Player vs. Player action.
Select a premade deck from the iconic colors of White, Blue, Red, Green and Black and compete head to head with live opponents. The more you progress, the more cards you can collect to enhance your units.
Eugene Evans, VP, Business Development, Wizards of the Coast, says:
We’re thrilled to partner with Netmarble to bring Magic: ManaStrike to mobile gaming fans around the world. We were drawn by Netmarble’s reputation as a global leader in mobile games and its known passion for putting a unique twist on the genre. As a new Magic-inspired experience, Magic: ManaStrike is an action-packed way to discover the Magic multiverse, and we can’t wait to welcome new players to the community.
More details, including gameplay, will be formally revealed at the G-Star tradeshow in Busan, South Korea next week.
