Supergirl may be taking an extended Thanksgiving holiday, but when the show returns on December 1st, it will be time for Kara (Melissa Benoist) to finally face the wrath of Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). And as it is the last episode before The Crisis comes for the Arrowverse, we expect this to be the key moment in Lena’s arc. Will she finally succumb to the Luthor nature or realize her best friend couldn’t tell her the truth? Based on this preview for the episode, it would seemingly be the former.
But then again, this is Supergirl and Kara has a remarkable power for getting through to people like Lena. And if Rama Khan (Mitch Pileggi) and Leviathan are the real season-long villains following the Crisis, than Kara and Lena have to make amends.
And if Malefic’s (Phil LaMarr) response to J’onn’s (David Harewood) act of contrition in this episode is any indication, amends are possible no matter how much (perceived) betrayal sets Lena on Luthoresque rampage.
Or, perhaps, it is Lena’s breaking bad moment. But it will be nice to have it outlined and/or resolved before the Crisis comes and creates the “game changer” McGrath told us about at Comic-Con.
Supergirl returns December 1st on The CW.
