Capcom recently confirmed what appears to be the “final” edition of Street Fighter V, referred to as Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. Boasting all of the additional content added to the game since it’s launch back in 2016, Champion Edition will be available as an “upgrade” to players who already own copies of Street Fighter V now for $24.99. When the full version launches in February, that will cost newcomers $29.99. More below:
Rule the ring with Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, the most robust version of the acclaimed fighting game! This all-new knockout edition includes all content (excluding Fighting Chance costumes, brand collaboration costumes and Capcom Pro Tour DLC) from both Street Fighter V and Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and adds each character, stage and costume that released after Arcade Edition and will release with Champion Edition.
In total: 40 characters, 34 stages and over 200 costumes! READY? FIGHT!
Full Version Coming February 14, 2020!
Champion Edition will also include new character Gill, the lead antagonist from Street Fighter III.
Gill brings the count of the current game up to 39 characters, with Capcom mentioning that a 40th character is waiting to be revealed. Essentially this game is “Ultra Street Fighter V” and Capcom has chosen the perfect time to release it now that the new systems will be revealed within the next few months. Could a Street Fighter VI be very far from being announced, or will they go instead for other franchises to start the generation?
