WolfEye Studios’ First Game Is The Isometric Action RPG “Weird West”

by Sage Ashford

As mentioned weeks back, WolfEye Studios (founded by Arkane Studios founder Raphael Colantonio) has revealed their very first title, Weird West.  Published by Devolver Digital, Weird West is an isometric action RPG that seems to lean into supernatural/horror tropes merged with a classic Wild West setting.

Survive and unveil the mysteries of the Weird West through the intertwined destinies of its unusual heroes in an immersive sim from the co-creators of Dishonored and Prey.

Discover a dark fantasy reimagining of the Wild West where lawmen and gunslingers share the frontier with fantastical creatures. Journey through the origin stories of a group of atypical heroes, written into legend by the decisions you make in an unforgiving land. Each journey is unique and tailored to the actions taken – a series of high stakes stories where everything counts and the world reacts to the choices you make. Form a posse or venture forth alone into an otherworldly confines of the Weird West and make each legend your own.

The idea of “forming a posse” implies the game will be playable from a co-operative perspective, and mentioning how “everything counts” in the game leads one to believe that this will be a narrative-driven game. There’s still plenty more about this game we’re unaware of though — will players be able to channel dark powers of their own? Just how “weird” is this Weird West? And when’s this game coming out?

None of that is clear, nor are the platforms the game will be available on, other than Steam.
