1920s monster hunting family, the Sangeryes, return in the critically-acclaimed series Bitter Root from creators David Walker , Chuck Brown and Sanford Greene, with the addition of new colorist Sofie Dodgson, this February. And, while we’ve only got the covers and one interior page, I must say, the variant cover – homaging to Spike Lee’s seminal film Do The Right Thing by Chris Brunner – has already caught my eye. Surely, it’s too early to think about a Cover of the Year yet?
Or is it?
In Bitter Root #6, the monster-fighting Sangerye family returns for another adventure. Loved ones once thought lost forever have returned—though the bliss of this family reunion doesn’t last for long. Cullen has changed, and everyone is concerned. But they’ll need all the help they can get, as a new threat has arrived on Earth…
Check out Bitter Root #6, out Wednesday, February 19th from Image Comics and currently in development as a film from producer Ryan Coogler and Legendary.
