Dark Horse Comics has teamed up with Netflix and Universal Content Productions for The Making of The Umbrella Academy, a new hardcover volume digging into the idiosyncratic wit and dysfunctional dynamism of Netflix’s family of superheroic savants. Based on the comic from Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba, The Umbrella Academy reached 45 million households in the first four weeks of its release.
This volume looks at the development and production of the Netflix original series, collecting hundreds of behind-the-scenes photos. It reveals the process showrunner and executive producer Steve Blackman went through to translate the creators’ original vision for their comic to the small screen.
The Making of The Umbrella Academy is set for release on July 7th, 2020 at your local comic shop, bookstore, and Amazon. The 200-page volume retails for $39.99.
