A Heart-Wrenching Sci-Fi Drama Begins In ‘Stargazer’ This May

by James Ferguson

Mad Cave Studios is expanding its line of genre comics this May with Stargazer. The new series from writer Anthony Cleveland, artists Antonio Fuso and Stefano Simeone, and letterer Justin Birch follows four children who were abducted by aliens and implanted with stolen technology capable of destroying an ancient alien race. Twenty years later the creatures from a far off planet return and they want their tech back.

Mad Cave’s Editor-in-Chief Chris Fernandez says:

From the moment we started playing with the idea of Stargazer, I knew this was going to be a special book. Whether you’re into coming of age stories like Stand by Me or UFO classics like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Stargazer has something for you.

I like the blend of emotions at work from this description. It sounds like a fun ride with some heart and a whole lot of sci-fi fun.

Writer Anthony Cleveland added:

I truly enjoyed crafting the personal stakes for each character in comparison to the massive cosmic conflict going on above their heads. What comes from that is an emotional story that I can’t wait to see readers respond to.

Stargazer joins other titles like Over the Ropes, Wolvenheart, Hellfighter Quin, and Battlecats under the Mad Cave Studios umbrella.

Artist Antonio Fuso says:

Anthony Cleveland does an amazing job blending the feel of a vintage blockbuster with all of the impact of a modern-day sci-fi thriller. You’ll love this book as much as I love working on it.

Stargazer #1 is set for release in May 2020.
