Genghis Khan Makes A Play For Hong Kong On The Next Legends Of Tomorow

While Marie Antoinette (Courtney Ford) proved to be a fairly easy challenge — at least by Legends standards — their next Encore may not be as easily foiled. As seen in this preview for next week’s Legends of Tomorrow, the team heads for Hong Kong, where Genghis Khan has returned and is up to his old habits — conquest! Will he successfully take control of the criminal underworld and the scooter trade? Or will the Legends find a way to use their knowledge of John Woo movies to bring him down?

We have to admit, Zari 2.0 (Tala Ashe) is a pretty compelling character. Famous since she was six, this new version of our favorite snack-happy Legend has tried to control the narrative and finds herself isolated as a consequence. But thanks to her brother’s goofy pals, she has found a friend in Ava Sharpe (Jes Macallan). That’s some good character work — and that’s even before a chance donut seems to give her back the memories of her snacking aboard the Waverider in the pre-Heyworld days. And while we’d love to see more of the old Zari return, the new one is a great addition to the group.

Meanwhile, the season-long plot is certainly shaping up to be something. John Constantine (Matt Ryan) is living through “Dangerous Habits” — or possibly dead — and Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) may be the key to preventing Astra (Olivia Swann) from unleashing more Encores. But if she scattered the pieces of the Loom of Fate eons ago, who is she really? The show’s never really given us an answer. Will that revelation prevent her from remaining with the team?
