Canto, the brave little clockwork knight has a few new adventures on the way from IDW Publishing. This May sees the release of Canto and the Clockwork Fairies, a new one-shot leading to a new follow-up series, Canto II: The Hollow Men, debuting in July from writer David M. Booher, artist Drew Zucker, colorist Vittorio Astone, and letterer Deron Bennett.
Writer David M. Booher says:
It’s been a total joy to tell Canto’s story, and we always knew there was so much more adventure ahead for him. In Canto II: The Hollow Men, we meet new characters, see old friends, and send Canto on another exciting and emotional journey to save his people. The readers have made it possible for us to continue on with our little clockwork knight. I can’t thank them enough.
Canto II: The Hollow Men has our hero facing a new and frightening challenge. He managed to fight oppression and free his people, but that freedom is in jeopardy when he discovers their clocks will stop unless they return to captivity. Joined by his friends Falco, Rikta, and Veratta, Canto heads out on a new adventure to save the lives of those he loves. Can they break the curse before their time runs out?
Artist Drew Zucker added:
It has been exciting to get to continue Canto’s adventures. David and I couldn’t be more excited to share Canto II: The Hollow Men with everyone! Expanding Canto’s world and his character more has been an amazing experience. We couldn’t be more grateful to all the fans for helping make this possible.
I was a big fan of the first Canto, so I’m eagerly anticipating this one. It’s a great all-ages title full of heart and fun and it looks like this one is too. Canto II: The Hollow Men will feature retailer incentive variant covers by Ben Bishop and George Caltsoudas. It’s set to debut in July 2020.
