Frank Cho’s Red Sonja Variant Hits Indiegogo

by James Ferguson

Not content with just one crowdfunding platform, Dynamite has jumped between them. The publisher already successfully funded a Frank Cho variant cover for Red Sonja #13 on Kickstarter. Now it’s taken it to Indiegogo to do it again, this time with a new version. I do not understand this.

In any case, there are four different versions available: a standard option with the Red Sonja logo and colors by Sabine Rich, one without the logo, a black-and-white edition, and a line-art only version. That last one is exclusive to Indiegogo, so if you backed the Kickstarter campaign, you can find something new in this one.

There are bundles available with all the covers. You can even get them in CGC graded versions. Add-ons include a lithograph print and collectible coins.

Frank Cho says:

When Dynamite asked me to draw the Red Sonja cover, I jumped at the chance. Who doesn’t love a redhead with a sword? The cover will show Red Sonja at her best – power and beauty. My goal is to make her look strong, classic, timeless and iconic.

At the time of this writing, the Indiegogo campaign has already surpassed its funding goal. It’s running for another four weeks.
