I must admit that while the whole ‘Earth One’ publishing initiative launched a decade ago was met with a good deal of excitement and good will at the time, ten years later and only a handful of titles to boast about, is out really still worth pursuing? DC Comics seems to think so, as they prepare for Green Lantern: Earth One Vol.2, coming out in hardback August 11th from DC Comics by sharing a rather beefy preview of the forthcoming graphic novel. Written by Gabriel Hardman and illustrated by Corinna Bechko, with color art by Jordan Boyd and lettered by Simon Bowland. I looks to be a more grittier, darker, realistic tale on an iconic character. What do you think from the preview below?
“While they seem a benign force for peace, Jordan can’t get comfortable with how much power they wield, or their bizarre, lockstep behavior. When fellow Earthling John Stewart ends up with a yellow ring, he and Hal must work together to confront the being who destroyed the original Green Lantern Corps–the last surviving Guardian.”
