Superheroes continue to be big business for The CW.
Even with Arrow finishing its run this past broadcast season, the network will still have five shows based on DC Comics costumed heroes in its stable. There’s also still a small chance a sixth might eventually join the roster … but for the moment, The CW is celebrating its lineup with a new “CWverse” trailer featuring our first glimpse at Superman & Lois.
Utilizing a few scenes of Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) from his appearance during “Crisis on Infinite Earth” — and clearly, some moments from the Superman & Lois pilot — it offers some idea of what the series will be. Both Superman and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) are readjusting to life on Earth-Prime with two young children. They appear to be splitting their time between Smallville and Metropolis. For Superman, that’s a fairly short commute, but it may create some conflicts in the Clark-Lane family.
The series will also feature Emmanuelle Chriqui as a grown-up Lana Lang, Erik Valdez as her husband Kyle Cushing, and Dylan Walsh as Lois’s father, General Sam Lane.
Superman & Lois is set to debut in 2021.
