Image Comic’s Upcoming ‘Stray Dogs’ To Become A Paramount Animated Feature

Stray Dogs will find animated glory at Paramount.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio’s animation division will develop a film based on the upcoming Image comic book by Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner with Game Night writer Mark Perez set to adapt. Annabelle‘s Gary Dauberman will produce. Details about the book itself are being closely guarded, but THR says it is “Silence of the Lambs meets Lady and the Tramp.”

“So much of what makes horror work is taking something innocent and twisting it into something scary,” Dauberman told the site. The intent with Stray Dogs, is to do just that in the realm of animation.

The comic book is set for release sometime in 2021 while the film will take much longer to materilize. Animation can take quite a while to develop and produce, but we’ll say a four year timetable is likely. Consequently, Paramount has not yet scheduled the film for release.
