Studio La Cachette has blown audiences away with their work on Love Death and Robots and Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal. The studio was founded by former Gobelins students. French animation is leaps-and-bounds beyond the competition in terms of maturity and visual artistry — what’s lacking is for people to take notice. There isn’t a French animation fanbase in the States the same way there is for anime or American cartoons. But if the French keep producing stellar work like this, that could change very soon.
