The current pandemic has disrupted all industries including comics. Over at Valiant Entertainment, they originally announced their latest Shadowman series back in February with a May 2020 release. Things are looking to get back on track as the comic has a new release date after experiencing some delays. The first issue will now arrive in April 2021.

The creative team consists of writer, Cullen Bunn, artist, Jon Davis-Hunt, colorist, Jordie Bellaire, and letterer, Clayton Cowles.

Get ready to be transported to a world of horror and supernatural as Shadowman, Jack Boniface, serves as Earth’s guardian from threats that lurk in the other dimension known as the Deadside. The barriers that separate our world from the horrifying realm are tearing providing new openings for nightmares from the other side to enter. Only Shadowman can protect us.

Shadowman #1 can now be pre-ordered from your local comic shop before its April 2021 release. Covers will be done by Jon Davis-Hunt (Cover A), Rod Reis (Cover B), Dave Johnson (Horror Movie Homage Variant), and Jeff Dekal (1:250 Variant).

Take a look at Davis-Hunt’s cover below along with the previously seen preview of the first five pages now with lettering.

“There’s a million dreams in the Big Easy. But now its worst nightmare is about to come true. As the forces of darkness prepare to claim New Orleans as their own, Jack Boniface must embrace the legacy he was born to uphold. As Shadowman, Jack is about to become the only thing that stands between his city and an army of unspeakable monstrosities from beyond the night. But is the mantle of Shadowman a blessing or a curse? And what is the true cost of his otherworldly power?”
