‘X-Men Legends’ Revisits The History Of Marvel’s Merry Mutants In February

by Tony Thornley

One of the most well known aspects of the X-Men has been the mysteries and histories that have been lost to the sands of times. However, in February Marvel debuts the new ongoing series X-Men Legends to answer some of those questions, and the first story jumps right in with one of the line’s most infamous- the Third Summers Brother!

X-Men Legends is a new in-continuity series featuring legendary creators such as Chris Claremont, Louise Simonson, Larry Hama, Peter David, and more. For the first story, Fabian Nicieza revisits one of the greatest mysteries from his run, the history of Adam-X, the third Summers brother!

“It’s incredibly exciting to finally tell the story of the infamous “third” Summers brother. Twenty-five years in the making, to see the truth about Adam-X revealed – and drawn so magnificently by Brett Booth – is one of the most surreal experiences of my career!” Nicieza said. “Getting the opportunity to tell this tale while kicking off the new X-Men Legends series is a x-tremely x-citing!”

Marvel’s recent hiring of Booth has drawn criticism after the artist’s past comments full of Islamophobia, Anti-Semitism have been discovered. Additionally, several years ago, Booth was in the center of a social media argument with a critic that resulted in harassment and threats towards the critic.
