Bud here. Big Al's got me mindin' the original art whilst he tends to some of the other tables. So here's where we get a bit more personal with these pupil-poppin' pages. But before we let you parade through this cataclysmic collection of cacophonisly creative cartoons, I'm gonna hit on a few high points and then leave you to your perusin'. First off, here's some really cool pages by Chris Sprouse and Al that were done for a neato nifty book titled Supreme. Chris Sprouse and Al go way back to one of Albabe's fave stories, a Secret Origins story written for DC by fellow Bard-appreciator Bobby L. Fleming. Chris was lined up to pencil a WildStar mini series titled WildStar: Sky Zero: ZERO, that was a rockin' rambunctious tale of how the original star got to Earth the "first" time. Too bad malicious market circumstances forbade. Next, Gen 13: What can ya say? Some nifty neato stuff by Humberto Ramos and da Gordster. Next up is when Al did an on and off stint for a couple of years over Big John Byrne on The Fantastic Four. On the first few issues Big John was trying a new style semi-sorta reminiscent of Barry Smith. Al and his ex studio-mate and Zacharys pizza eatin' cohort, Erik Larsen, have worked on more than a few projects together includin' this cool Doom Patrol stuff. And that's not counting the odd panel or whole page here and there, that Al has inked for the big "E" when Erik thought it necessary, or Al just thought it was a cool drawing and wanted to get his greedy little inkin' paws on it. That's the groovy kinda stuff you can do when you share a studio together, besides the spitballs and paper airplanes. Cool drawings and the name Erik Larsen just kinda go together. What can I say about the Todd Meister that you don't already know. Probably not much, except maybe that his name rhymes with another word that would get me in dire predicament with those religious Republicans. This is my favorite of the batch. A cool Mekanique drawing from DC's Who's Who. When it comes to Al's writing, Krazy Keith Giffen is the guy who twisted Al's malleable arm, in insisting that the big guy write him a full script for Al's seminal writing venture (The Legion of Super-Heroes #'s 21-24. 1991), rather than the "Marvel" style loose plot that krazy Keith was used to. Which prompted the Big One to say: "Hey, this ain't so difficult." Go figure. So here's three cosmic covers, the kind Keith is so gosh-darn good at and so renown for. Here's a couple of covers for L.E.G.I.O.N. '89 and '90 that Kevin Maguire penciled. Erik Larsen did thumbnails for some of the covers penciled by Kevin in this series, but for the life of Hamlet I can't remember which ones. One not-leaste-but-almost-last thing before I go here. I just want to tell ye all that you can eMail ye 'ol Bud or da Gordermeister here at the table and we'll send ya a fairly complete list of all the original art pages AlBabe has for sale.
Well, I guess it's 'bout time for me to stop yakin' so you faithful followers can get a gander at the actual goodies. So in the always inspiring words of my Aunt Sally's, Aunt Agnus: "Awright..! Which one of you turkeys swiped the last slice o' rum cake???."
